As General Maintenance – Upholstery, you will perform general preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and respond to guest or operational repair needs, with focus on assigned discipline. You will operate a variety of equipment and machinery including saws, drill presses and hand/power tools to perform repair and maintenance work. You will also perform upholstery repairs in all areas: carpet, wallpaper, canvas and fabrics.
You will report to the Assistant Manager – Island General MaintenanceResponsibilities : Your Responsibilities – How You Will Make a DifferenceMaintain and execute work orders and estimate time and materialsInspect and remove and replace old and worn padding, upholstery filling and broken springsMeasure, cut and sew fabric and attach to a furniture framePromote a safe work environment; Comply with the safety competencies, and all company policiesMay provide lateral service to other departmentsBasic Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications – What You Will Bring To The Team3 or more years of experience in the areas of general maintenance/upholstery; Experience can be substituted with technical/vocational training in general maintenance upholstery and repair or other relevant experience for understudy developmentKnowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials common to general maintenance upholsteryKnowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of general maintenance upholsteryExperience using trade tools including tacks, staples, glue and other hand toolsThis is a field service position that may include work from ladders, elevated platforms and working in confined spacesAdditional Information :
