Plant & Compound Manager

(Enviroscape)The Plant & Compound Manager will oversee daily operations at the company’s nurseries located on Paradise Island and Fire Trail. This role involves managing staff, ensuring optimal plant health, maintaining facilities and equipment, and upholding safety and customer service standards.

ResponsibilitiesSupervise nursery staff and coordinate daily work schedules Monitor plant health and implement care protocols (watering, pruning, pest control) Oversee maintenance of vehicles, tools, and nursery infrastructure Conduct regular inventory checks and manage supply orders Ensure compound security and manage access protocols Train new hires and conduct performance evaluations Liaise with vendors, contractors, and external partners as needed Prepare monthly operational reports for management Organize seasonal planting schedules and layout plans Respond to customer inquiries and resolve service issues Enforce safety procedures and conduct routine inspections Support landscaping projects and special installationsQualificationsDegree or Certifications in horticulture, agriculture, or botany (an asset) Knowledge of biology, especially plant and animal organisms Experience in inventory control and procurement Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Familiarity with safety standards and compliance protocols Ability to motivate, develop, and direct team members Skill in evaluating performance and implementing improvements Effective communication with supervisors, peers, and subordinates (phone, email, in-person) Ability to represent the company externally with professionalism Strong time management and organizational skills; able to work independently Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting Proficiency in recordkeeping and reportingOther tasks appl
