Job Description

UNICEF, created in 1946 and a permanent UN agency since 1953, works to protect the rights of every child by improving access to health, nutrition, education, and protection—particularly for the most disadvantaged. In the Central African Republic (CAR), UNICEF partners with government, civil society and donors to advance equity, strengthen systems, and drive sustainable development for children.Amidst structural changes, UNICEF CAR is reinforcing its donor engagement and resource mobilization capacity. High-quality reporting and strategic partnerships are essential to sustaining programmes for children. The International UN Volunteer will play a key role in maintaining strong donor reporting performance and supporting resource mobilization efforts aligned with UNICEF’s mandate and the 2024–2028 Resource Mobilization Strategy.Purpose of the AssignmentUnder the direct supervision of the Partnerships Manager, the UN Volunteer will support donor reporting, resource mobilization and partnership development. The Officer ensures timely, accurate, and high-quality grant reporting; strengthens donor communication; supports proposal development; and contributes to data management and knowledge-sharing across the office.Key ResponsibilitiesA. Donor Reporting (Quality, Timeliness & Systems)Draft, edit and finalize donor reports, proposals and investment cases (English/French), ensuring accuracy, results coherence and compliance with donor and UNICEF standards.Monitor and maintain the donor reporting schedule, triggering timely inputs from programme teams and providing guidance, templates, and reference materials.Ensure systematic uploading, archiving and traceability of all donor reports and documentation in corporate platforms (incl. UNISON).Support quality assurance processes, verify data accuracy and alignment with UNICEF strategic priorities.Coordinate responses to donor queries and support field visits linked to grant monitoring.B. Partnerships & Resource MobilizationContribute to drafting concept notes, proposals and partnership materials that meet donor requirements.Maintain and update UNICEF’s CRM (UNISON), funding pipeline, donor contacts and partnership databases.Conduct partner landscape scanning; support clearance processes, due diligence and submissions.Document lessons learned, good practices and success stories for donor engagement and knowledge management.Support the identification and cultivation of new funding opportunities.Assist in preparing communication and visibility materials (fact sheets, case studies, donor updates).Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the CAR Resource Mobilization Strategy (2024–2028).C. Coordination & Capacity StrengtheningLiaise with programme teams, the Regional Office and HQ to ensure consistency and alignment with partnership priorities.Collaborate with Communications to ensure donor visibility and human-interest materials align with grant requirements.Support organization of donor meetings and field visits.Contribute to building staff capacity on rights- and results-based management, proposal writing and reporting.Perform additional duties as required in support of the Partnerships team.RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, Communications, International Development, Marketing or a related field.ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in reporting, resource mobilization, external relations, communication, public affairs, or programme management.Strong experience in drafting high-quality reports, proposals and donor communications.Knowledge of partnership development and fundraising processes.Experience working in multicultural environments and engaging diverse stakeholders.SkillsExcellent written and oral communication skills.Strong networking, negotiation and relationship-building abilities.Solid analytical and policy analysis skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); ability to produce analytical spreadsheets, professional reports and data visualizations.Experience with CRM systems (UNISON an asset).LanguagesEnglish: Fluent (required)French: Working proficiency (required)Volunteer Living Allowance: currently US$ 3,920 to US$ 4,370UN Volunteers serve full-time in their professional expertise, supported by a benefits package, including a monthly living allowance to ensure a secure standard of living at their duty stations.
