Job Description

Main scope:Purposed to demonstrate commitment to HSE Policy and participation to company safety awareness and initiative schemes - Performances: KPI, well design, NPT, improvement process - optimization and cost reduction of operations while maintaining a high level of safety and preventing any pollution or violation of company or national environmental policies.To ensure compliance of Fluids activities with operational and environmental standards while optimizing fluids related engineering and operations in order to facilitate well operations performance. Implementation of the fluid programs, co-ordinate activity between fluid service companies, vendors and operator to optimize performance.To be able to perform in both onshore and offshore working environment.Main Responsibilities:Monitor and maintain the drilling fluid properties in accordance with the Drilling and Mud Program.Conduct routine mud testing and reporting and advice of any related problems.Provide technical and commercial overview of the drilling fluid operation and make recommendations for improvements.Maintain the drilling fluid and ensure relevant personnel adhere to the safe handling procedures for chemicals and equipment.Ensure barite’s, salt and mud materials are maintained above the minimum levels.Ensuring that a complete recap is completed for each hole section with cost and lessons learnt through the end of the well.Responsible for verifying reporting, and inventory of products at the wellsite.Ability to periodically verify the inventory of lab test chemicals and equipment calibration with records.Ability to track drilling fluids samples collected and that all relevant drilling fluids tests are conducted as per API RPs at wellsite and/or independent laboratory.Ability to verify the delivery/credit tickets against wellsite inventory.Able to make recommendations related to the drilling fluids optimization for hole cleaning efficiency (i.e. flow rates, Low Shear Rate Viscosities, RPM, ROP, etc.)Knowledgeable on the properties and technical specification of the drilling mud (i.e. solids calculations, fluid chemistry, etc.) and its impact on drilling operation.Qualifications / Experience:BSc Chemistry or similar or Earth Sciences or 3-year Technical Diploma in Earth Science equivalent preferredA minimum of 10 years total industry experience in fluids, solids control and waste management. Minimum 5 year experience in Middle East and minimum 3 years in UAE. Past work performed directly for SNOC an advantage.A minimum of 10 years diversified international experience for international assignments. A minimum of 2 years of industry experience requirements must be in remote drilling locations with H2S risk.Experience using SOBM and HPWBM in GCC and tight filtrate non-aqueous drilling fluids; experience with various completion fluids. Experience or training with cementing activities is an added advantage.Experience dealing with total losses, stuck pipe, reaming, back reaming, extreme geomechanical stresses, hole instability, MPD drilling is a must.Experience with problem solving solids control equipment and waste management as per API and international RPs.Experience with CaCl2/CaBr2 RDIF.Able to effectively organize, communicate/present thoughts via multi-media tools and reporting.Experience in offshore operations and preferably working in limited storage space rigs.
