************ONLY EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH FLOUR MILL WILL BE CONSIDERED************Role A flour mill manager oversees all daily operations to ensure efficient production of high-quality flour while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include managing production staff, supervising machinery and maintenance, controlling inventory, ensuring food safety compliance (like GMP and HACCP), and managing costs and quality to meet company targets. They are also responsible for the hiring, training, and performance management of mill personnel.ResponsibilitiesProduction and Operations:Set daily production priorities and schedules to meet targets.Ensure all products meet company standards and specifications.Monitor and maintain plant machinery, coordinating with maintenance for repairs and preventative maintenance.Maintain production reports.Maintain and develop plant design if and where necessary.Quality and Food Safety:Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation (including GMP, HACCP).Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure product quality and compliance.Promote a positive food safety and EHS culture.Occupational Health Safety and EnvironmentIdentify unsafe areas and initiate corrective action.Ensure personnel are practising safe work standards.Ensure the hygienic conditions are implemented and maintained.Personnel and Management:• Supervise, train, and mentor mill staff in all aspects of their duties.• Manage personnel, including hiring, and appraising performance.• Implement mentorship programs to develop the staff and recommend staff promotions.Inventory and Logistics:• Maintain and order stocks of raw materials (like wheat and grains) and packaging.• Ensure the timely dispatch of finished products to meet customer and sales targets.• Implement effective wheat turnover program in the silosCost and Performance:• Ensure budgetary targets are met and take action to control costs.• Monitor and analyse performance metrics to drive efficiency and cost reduction.Communication:• Liaise with other departments like sales, quality control, and marketing.• Manage customer relations regarding orders, complaints, and communication.RequirementsAt least 10 years of experience as a flour millerQualifications: Degree or Advanced Certificate in Flour Milling from an accredited institution
