This position acts as the primary liaison between drivers and operations, ensuring that all drivers meet performance expectations aligned with the company’s goals of decreasing costs and increasing efficiency. High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in transportation or logistics is preferred.Key Responsibilities:Operational Efficiency & Performance Management Drive company revenue per truck goal of $5,700 per week while maintaining an average of 2,650 miles per week per driver. Monitor and ensure compliance with MPG goals (7.5 MPG) and idle time below 60 hours per week. Oversee drivers' workload to ensure 5-6 loads are delivered per week with exceptional service quality. Ensure drivers return promptly from home time to maximize mileage and revenue. Track driver ETA updates and route optimization to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.Driver Accountability & Coaching Hold drivers accountable to company standards, ensuring on-time pickups and deliveries. Coach drivers on Motive usage, efficient trip planning, and timely home time requests. Ensure drivers route trucks and trailers for wet services and DOT inspections in a timely manner. Reinforce daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain trailer and equipment efficiency. Enforce submission of Proof of Delivery (POD) upon load completion before leaving the receiver. Track and follow up on accesorials for customer and broker loads to ensure payment is received. Encourage drivers to be problem-solvers, proactively addressing and reporting equipment issues.Communication & Collaboration Foster clear and concise communication between drivers, dispatch, and cross-functional departments including Payroll, Safety, Planning, Customer Service, and Recruiting. Ensure seamless coordination with night and weekend dispatch to keep drivers rolling and minimize downtime. Maintain accurate driver mapping to track available hours, ETAs, home time, and maintenance scheduling. Set clear expectations for drivers regarding pickup and delivery instructions to eliminate confusion and delays. Work closely with Planning and Customer Service to align driver availability with load assignments to minimize deadhead miles and maximize loaded miles.Essential Responsibilities: Effectively communicating to drivers via phone, email, and text. Dispatch drivers to complete deliveries. Plan delivery routes. Review driver logs. Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last-minute schedule changes. Plans, schedules, and assigns driver dispatch. Coordinate schedule in the most effective manner. Keep clear and accurate records. Understand, interpret, and apply rules and written directions. Ensure positive driver experience through coaching and communication.
