Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Economic Development Director will lead all efforts related to identifying, negotiating, and securing financial incentives to support the company’s growth, expansion, and investment projects. This role serves as the primary economic liaison between the company and local economic development agencies. The Economic Development Director ensures that all available incentive programs, opportunities, and partnerships are pursued strategically while maintaining the highest standards of compliance.ResponsibilitiesAct as the main economic point of contact for local, regional, and state economic development agencies across Phoenix’s 27-state and growing footprint.Build strong relationships with city and county officials, community committees, state and federal agencies, businesses, developers, etc.Identify and analyze development proposals and make recommendations that align with business goals.Advise leadership on advantageous opportunities and potential risks.Lead negotiations for incentive agreements and ensure compliance with program requirements.Document all current and potential incentive opportunities, including tax incentives/abatement, grants, loans, subsidies, etc.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, public administration, or a related field5 - 10 years of managerial experience in economic development, business development, urban planning, or financeStrong knowledge of local economic development programs and incentive complianceProven track record of negotiating and securing economic incentives for complex projectsExcellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsPlease note: Any compensation information is provided by ZipRecruiter.
