Job Description

Gecko Power Solutions, a well-established, engineering and consulting company specialized in Power Grids, HV & MV Substations, Power Generation and Industry projects company, is seeking to recruit an Electrical Commissioning Engineer. As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for engineering, implementing, testing, and maintaining the substation automation systems. These systems play a critical role in modern electrical grids, ensuring efficient and reliable power distribution and monitoring. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior engineering staff, project managers, and field technicians. Responsibilities:Design and development of Substation automation systems, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), communications networks, and other related equipment.Configuration, programming, and parameterization of IEDs, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and RTUs (Remote Terminal Units) to enable efficient automation and control of Substation's equipment.Become familiar with various communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus) and work on setting up communication networks to facilitate data exchange between substation devices and the central control systems.Testing and commissioning activities on field, including functional testing, integration testing, and troubleshooting of substation automation systems to ensure their proper operation and adherence to project specifications.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to system designs, configurations, test results, and any modifications made during the project lifecycle.Support the implementation of cybersecurity measures to protect the substation automation systems from potential threats and vulnerabilities.Collaborate with the design team, project managers, and field technicians to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project execution.Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in substation automation engineering. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field.Understanding of HV & MV Protection systems, substation components, automation principles, and communication protocols. Familiarity with programming languages.You have at least 2 years experience in a similar role. Experience in a construction company related to energy sector will be considered as a plus.Proficiency in SCADA software, automation configuration tools, and MS Office applications.Strong problem-solving abilities and an analytical mindset to diagnose and resolve technical issues.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and learn from experienced engineers.Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and learn new technologies quickly.Awareness of safety protocols and practices within the substation environment. What we offer:Interesting and diversified opportunities in the fast-growing energy sectorInterdisciplinary teamwork in a successful and dynamic companyFriendly working atmosphere
