Job Title: Sr. Member of Technical Staff – Electrical DesignLocation: Onsite | Industry: Advanced Communications TechnologyPosition OverviewA global leader in high-reliability communications infrastructure is seeking a Sr. Member of Technical Staff to lead the electrical design of next-generation undersea products. This role focuses on developing fault-tolerant analog and digital circuits—including microcontrollers, FPGAs, and electro-optic components such as photodiodes and lasers—for use in extreme subsea environments.You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, optical, and reliability engineers to deliver robust, production-ready designs. The position also includes responsibility for verification and qualification planning, as well as authoring test plans to support manufacturing integration. This role reports to the Director of Lightwave Technology.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and simulate analog and digital circuits for high-reliability applicationsPlan and execute qualification testing for new product designsPerform hands-on experimental work on prototype components, circuits, and assembliesDevelop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliersEnsure all work aligns with company policies, procedures, and core valuesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceMaster’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience requiredMinimum of 10 years of relevant industry experienceTechnical SkillsExpertise in electrical or mechanical engineering, data analysis, and computer programmingStrong experimental and laboratory skillsProficient in soldering, circuit assembly, and wiringExperience with single-mode optical fiber, fiber optic components, and optical measurement techniquesCore CompetenciesSelf-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challengesStrong communication and interpersonal skills; able to clearly articulate complex ideasResults-driven with a proven track record of execution and attention to detail
