Electrical Specialist

Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for an Electrical Specialist (Electrical Technician) based in Penang, Malaysia. The Electrical Specialist will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. The role includes drafting and implementing electrical designs, overseeing power generation processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The candidate will collaborate with engineering teams and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical projects and resources.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Electrical Installation & MaintenancePerform installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of LV electrical systems in compliance with ST regulations.Carry out system wiring, preventive and corrective maintenance of switchboards, distribution boards, power outlets, lighting, cabling, and other electrical components.Troubleshoot electrical faults, perform repairs, and restore system functionality within minimal downtime.Able to work on conduit or trunking, cutting or bending or other necessary ways in order to complete the installation2. Compliance & SafetyEnsure all electrical works comply with Electricity Supply Act 1990, IEE Wiring Regulations, and Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements.Maintain proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and safety procedures when handling live or hazardous systems.Conduct inspections of electrical installations and report non-compliances or hazards.3. Facilities SupportSupport daily building operations by ensuring uninterrupted electrical supply.Assist in energy efficiency initiatives and electrical system upgrades.Provide technical support for refurbishment, renovation, or expansion projects.4. Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate maintenance recordsPrepare reports on faults, maintenance activities, and energy usage where required.Assist in maintaining inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables.5. Teamwork & CoordinationCoordinate with mechanical, civil, and others team mate for integrated facilities support.Supervise contractors and vendors carrying out electrical works on-site.Liaise with utility providers and authorities (e.g., TNB) for inspections or audits.Requirements:Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering orMinimum Wireman PW1-4 (Suruhanjaya Tenaga).At least 1-3 years of experience in facility or maintenance (plant, factory or construction).Good knowledge of building services for high-rise or commercial developments
