Find out more about working with us .About The RoleWithin the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:Demonstrated teaching and learning competence and capacity to provide pedagogical leadership to promote the achievement of effective teachers and quality learning outcomes for all students in K-2, including those from diverse backgrounds and with additional needs.Demonstrated competence to lead strategically, make insightful, courageous and ethical decisions, and lead change in complex environments to embed inclusive practices and equity-focused approaches.Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining relationships through clarity, engagement and purpose, with a collaborative focus on outcomes that support inclusive education and equitable access for all learners.Demonstrated ability to facilitate evidence-based, targeted professional learning opportunities that build leader and teacher expertise in inclusive practices and improve outcomes for students from diverse backgrounds.The Department of Education is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace and encourages applications from individuals with expertise in inclusive education, diversity, and equity-focused practices.Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior Education Officer – Inclusive Practices (K-2) within the Maximising Learning Team, you will:Coordinate, manage and evaluate a range of capability development activities, aligned to research-based, evidence-backed and standards-informed practices, with a focus on inclusive education principles and differentiated models of support.Deliver professional learning and capability for educators, aligned to the implementation of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) and Australian Curriculum, with a focus on school leaders, to enact Equity and Excellence priorities and build inclusive practices that support diverse learners.Strengthen school leaderships', curriculum leaders' and teachers' knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and related disciplinary knowledge by focusing professional development on what students are to learn, evidence-based teaching strategies, and how to differentiate learning to ensure all students, including those with diverse needs, achieve improvement.Your ContributionWork With Your Regional Team And Collaborate With a Network Of Peers Around The State In Regional Campuses And a Centrally Located Team To Provide Targeted Capability Development In The Following Priority AreasEarly Years/K-2 ‘Starting Strong'Australian CurriculumReadingEffective, evidence-informed whole school approach to pedagogyYou will also maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge of pedagogy, inclusive practices, and current curriculum programs to ensure the delivery of effective professional development that supports diverse learners.Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
