Founded in 1973, Central Toronto Youth Services (CTYS) is an accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre serving Toronto's most vulnerable youth. For over 50 years, CTYS has provided evidence-informed mental health services to at-risk youth aged 12 to 24 and their families, helping them resolve psychological and social challenges. With a reputation for service excellence, CTYS delivers accessible mental health care, funded by the Province of Ontario through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and the Ministry of Health. From its downtown Toronto office at 65 Wellesley Street East, CTYS offers equitable, community-based programs that support young people in navigating difficult circumstances and building healthier futures. At an exciting time in the organization’s evolution, the Board seeks a collaborative leader for the role of Executive Director. The successful candidate will generate opportunities to build upon CTYS’s momentum and excellent reputation as a strong, resilient and sustainable organization, helping expand its impact. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for the strategic leadership, team development, and successful management of the organization. As the ideal candidate, you are a systems thinker with exceptional communication and listening skills and a passion for CTYS’s mission. You will develop productive relationships with diverse stakeholders including the Board, staff, lead agency and community partners, government representatives, and other service providers locally and across Ontario. With well-developed business awareness, financial management, and analytical skills, you have a strong track record of managing and supporting a dedicated team, and a proven track record of championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. You will draw upon your strong emotional intelligence, humility, and political acumen in furtherance of CTYS’s work. You bring 7-10 years of progressive management experience, with non-profit leadership experience strongly preferred. An understanding of the child and youth mental health sector in Ontario, along with familiarity with mental health challenges facing youth is preferred. Candidates with transferable experience from sectors such as youth justice, child welfare, child and youth developmental services, adult mental health etc., including those who have experience leading through an amalgamation are also encouraged to apply. Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) is required; a graduate degree is preferred. This position is based in Toronto, Ontario.
