Our global team includes over 100 staff in Canada and more than 250 staff internationally, implementing a diverse portfolio of development projects in collaboration with numerous multilateral and bilateral donors, and philanthropic foundations.ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Senior Finance Officer, the Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing strong financial and administrative support to ensure compliance with WUSC’s financial policies and procedures and efficient day-to-day operations of the Ghana office.Finance and AccountingSupport the Finance Officer and Finance Manager in ensuring compliance with WUSC finance policies and procedures.Review and analyze invoices and payment requests for vendor payments.Scrutinize staff travel and activity advances and liquidations for errors, completeness, and compliance with WUSC policies.Provide financial guidance and first-line support to project teams and volunteers.Manage petty cash to ensure efficient cash flow for small purchases and reimbursements.Ensure proper electronic and physical filing of financial documentation.Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.Administration and LogisticsOversee the daily management of the office.Compile staff timesheets and maintain updated leave schedules.Assist with procurement of inventory and office supplies under the supervision of the Administrative Officer.Maintain a register of office equipment and inventory, ensuring proper use and maintenance.Manage incoming and outgoing courier services and correspondence.Support logistics arrangements for workshops, meetings, and conferences.Arrange accommodation and travel for staff and volunteers.Ensure timely provision of office supplies and maintain stock levels.Maintain the vehicle log and monitor fuel and mileage levels.Ensure the office environment is safe, clean, and eco-friendly.Perform other administrative duties as assignedWork environmentPromote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust, respect and safety.  Create a working environment that is free from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH)Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SEAH are in place consistent with the WUSC's safeguarding policies and WUSC's Code of Conduct. Qualifications And CompetenciesEducationDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.Experience & CompetenciesExperience in financial administration, accounting, or a similar role within an NGO or corporate environment.Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage 50 Accounting.Strong organizational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in an intercultural, diverse, and complex work environment.Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English (both written and oral).LanguagesComplete fluency in English is required.WHY WORK WITH WUSC?Join Us.
