Job Description

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of a growing finance team (6 staff) and all matters relating to financial accounting, ensuring the integrity of financial information in the GL and that month end is completed on time. You will also provide crucial support to the CFO across financial compliance reporting and engage with multiple stakeholders across the organisation. ResponsibilitiesPreparation of monthly and quarterly Board Financial Reports, including P&L, BS and Cashflows, including associated work papers, journals and reconciliations.Monitor and analyse financial management information, ensuring information systems are maintained and reports are accurate.Analysis of monthly financial reports for multiple entities Oversee monthly reconciliation of GLPreparation of annual audited financial statementsAudit preparation and enquiries, including working papers and reconciliations prior to auditPreparation of all other statutory accounts and annual returnsAccounting and aquittal of grants and donationsPreparation and lodgement of annual FBT returns and oversee preparation of quarterly GST BAS and monthly instalment activity statements.Preparation of all Commonwealth and State Funding returns and aquittalsApplications for grants and fundingOversee payroll function (outsourced)Development and implementation of budget systems and controls, including 5-10 year budgetAnalysis of budget performanceCash flow managementMaitain asset registerQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and part or fully qualified CA/CPAHold a current Positive Notice Blue Card or can obtain oneExperience in the education or not for profit sector would be advantageousKey skillsProfessional manner and outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to prioritise and meet deadlinesCan work autonomously or part of a teamHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to multi-taskAdvanced Excel skillsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business, which is expected to double its revenue in the next 12 months.
