Job Description

Job Summary: As the Lead Host, you serve as both a welcoming presence for our guests and a key team member within the front-of-house team. You'll oversee host operations, manage reservations and floor plans, support training of hosts, and collaborate closely with the F&B management team to ensure a smooth, refined, and guest-centric dining experience. Job Duties & Functions: Warmly welcome and escort guests to their tables, ensuring a smooth flow of service and an elevated first impression. Oversee daily host operations including guest flow, table assignments, and seating rotations to optimize service.

Manage reservations, special requests, and large party coordination using the designated reservation system for multiple outlets within the resort. Train and mentor new hosts/hostesses, ensuring consistency in service standards and guest engagement. Liaise with servers, bartenders, and managers to communicate guest preferences, VIP arrivals, or special occasions. Handle guest inquiries, emails, and phone calls professionally and promptly. Print and prepare menus; maintain cleanliness and readiness of host stand and entrance area. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the dining room, including bussing and resetting tables as needed.

Monitor guest feedback and proactively assist in resolving any concerns or service issues. Uphold Forbes, AAA, and brand service standards consistently. Performs other duties and attends meetings, as assigned by hotel/department leadership. Education & Experience: 2+ years of experience in a host or guest service role, with at least 1 year in a lead position in a luxury or upscale dining environment. Strong organization, communication, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in POS and reservation systems (e. g. , OpenTable). Strong understanding of Forbes Travel Guide, AAA Five Diamond, LQA or equivalent service standards. Ability to manage guest expectations and resolve issues gracefully.

Food Handler Certification (as applicable). Ability to read, write, and converse in English. Additional languages are a plus. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position is at a location where Hyatt is not the employer. The employer of individuals working at this hotel may be a third-party management company that is responsible for all employment benefits and obligations at this location.
