We know that our culture is the reason that our teams are so passionate about providing Canadians with consistent and high-quality products to enjoy.What You'll Be DoingWe are looking for a dedicated and experienced Food Production Supervisor to oversee a team of 30–50 employees (depending on the season) and lead day-to-day production activities across key stations, including grinding, formulations, stuffing, smoke houses and other raw operations.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food manufacturing industry (meat processing experience will be an asset), with a focus on food safety and quality assurance. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to manage a team effectively while ensuring compliance with health regulations and company standards. You will be responsible for meeting production goals and must be the type of leader who is willing to stay extra hours when needed to get the job done.**Working hours : 6:30am - 3:00pm (Mon-Fri)Key Responsibilities includeProduction ManagementOversee daily scheduling of personnel and product; manage overtime, vacations, and ensure adequate staffing to meet production goalsEnsure product quality standards are consistently met in line with HACCP and CFIA guidelinesAchieve or exceed targets for product quality, yield, and production efficiencyMonitor material usage (meat, casings, spices), and ensure accurate rotation of materials in receivingIdentify and implement new workflow methods or equipment to enhance production capacityPersonnel ManagementDevelop and implement training programs for both new hires and current staff, covering product standards, equipment safety, and regulatory requirementsProvide day-to-day coaching and mentorship to staff to reduce absenteeism and encourage professional growthPromote positive employee relations and teamwork within the production crewAddress employee concerns promptly and fairly, maintaining a respectful work environmentReview and approve daily time sheetsSafety & ComplianceSupport food safety audits (internal and external), ensuring full compliance with company food safety policies, HACCP, and CFIA regulationsProactively enforce OH&S protocols to maintain a zero-accident workplaceLead investigations of any workplace incidents and follow through with corrective actionOperational EfficiencyEnsure all machinery and equipment is safe and fully operational, with proper employee training in placeWork closely with QA, Maintenance, and Scheduling teams to resolve issues and continuously optimize workflowIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement in production processes to enhance efficiencies and control costsWhat you bringA diploma or degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related fieldMinimum 3–5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in a food production or manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of HACCP, CFIA regulations, and food safety standardsProven ability to lead, train, and develop teams in a production settingExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvementStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departmentsProficient in using computers and basic software for managing production schedules and reportingWorking ConditionsPhysical Requirements: Standing for extended periods, operating equipment, lifting up to 50 poundsWork Environment: Exposure to cold environments; adherence to PPE standards is requiredWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on relevant work experiencePerformance bonus potential when objectives are achievedEmployee benefits start on Day 1 — 100% employer-paid coverage for self and eligible dependents(Extended health care, dental, vision)Matching RRSP capped at 3% upon completion of 6 months serviceESOP matching capped at 25% upon completion of 6 months service5 Paid personal days per annum2 Paid sick days per annumOpportunities for career advancement and leadership growthA positive and supportive workplace where your leadership is valueIf you’re an experienced food production leader ready to take your career to the next level, we want to hear from you. Apply today and join the growing team at SJ Fine Foods Ltd.SJ Fine Foods Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
