Based in Cheadle, Cheshire, our 750 colleagues help our customers throughout the UK, backed by the power of a £7 billion loan book.Job DescriptionAs a FP&A Assistant Financial Analyst you will provide financial analysis and insight to enable both regular monthly reporting and ad hoc evaluation of financial data to aid business decisions and support Personal Finance in the delivery of financial targets.As a FP&A Assistant Financial Analyst we are looking for someone to:Maintain and develop the models for month end PF Exec and PF Board reporting using excel, powerquery and MDX; including forecast and budget comparators Deal with monthly cost analysis to provide transparency of costs charged to PF including comparisons: month on month, year on year, vs budget, vs forecast including numbers & commentaryLead the cost analysis for the PF forecasting and budgeting processes, engaging with Group FP&A as required and delivering inputs to PF Board and Exec packsOwn the monthly Financial MI pack for PF. Updating current analysis plus develop new analysis and insight on an ongoing basis. Including but not limited to analysis of income, Nim and loan book by product, channel and interest rate type. Present output and insight to PF FDCollaborate with the Legal and Financial Control teams to prepare and submit period-end journals related to legal claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlinesReview monthly postings and prepare relevant accrual and prepayment journals for processing by the Financial Control team, maintaining consistency and integrity in financial reporting.Provide ad hoc financial analysis and insight to support senior PF stakeholders, providing suggestions and inputs to format and presentation of outputs using both Excel and Powerpoint as appropriateWork in collaboration across PF & Group financeQualificationsEssential:Studying towards CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent accountancy qualificationsMinimum 1 year experience in a finance roleRegular Excel userCommercially focusedDemonstrate curiosity and confidence to challengeBring own ideas on analysis and presentation of financial informationAbility to provide commentary and insight as well as numbersIf you feel you have some of the skills mentioned above, but not all, please do still apply and we would be happy to have a further discussion with you in regards to your suitability for the role.Additional InformationTogether embraces diversity and inclusion, and are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
