The Coordinator, Plant Projects will be responsible for coordination of projects requested in process plant. The role includes planning, designing, budgeting, permitting, awarding contracts and overseeing projects to ensure the successful delivery of projects supporting smooth operations in the process plant.

Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;Coordinating, managing and supervising Engineers under OSD Process Plant Projects Section that report directly under this roleCoordinating with project stakeholders by communicating efficiently on progress and any challenges being faced on projects or programsReviewing and approving construction and service contract payment estimates and/or invoicesPreparing progress and completion reports as required. Supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors.

Coordinating designs of Building and Civil infrastructure Checking drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations prior to approvalLiaising with any subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce on execution plansJob Specific Competencies Develop plans and specifications in accordance with engineering standards and project requirements. Perform cost estimations and feasibility studies for various infrastructure projects. Conduct site investigations and surveys as necessary for project development. Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and technicians working on the same project. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and safety codes when developing infrastructure solutions.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each project, including progress reports, budgets, schedules, and correspondence with stakeholders. Coordinate with external consultants or contractors involved in the project as needed. Present findings and recommendations to management for approval and implementationBehavioral TraitsMust have problem-solving skills. Must have excellent organization and managerial skills and a methodical approach to work. Must have ability to think methodically and to manage projects. Must have the ability to work to deadlines and within budget. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent supervisory and leadership skills.

Must be able to work without supervision. Must have a confident decision-making ability. Must be detailed oriented. Qualifications, Experience & SkillsFull Grade 12 CertificateBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

3 + Years’ experience in Process Plant Environment5 + Years’ experience in construction3 + Years’ experience in project works will be an added bonusExperience in infrastructure development and project managementStrong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and safety codes governing infrastructure projectsExcellent problem-solving skills with attention to detailProficiency in computer software such as Autodesk various CAD Drafting and Design Software for Civil/Building Infrastructure, Prokon or Structural Design Software, GIS, and Microsoft Projects and Office applicationsEffective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teamsAbility to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure. Registered member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
