Electrical Design Engineer

My client are seeking an experienced Freelance Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in EPLAN to support the design and development of electrical systems for power distribution. This is a 12-month contract role based in Germany, with flexibility for remote work and periodic on-site collaboration. Type: Freelance Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)Location: Germany (remote work with occasional on-site presence)Start Date: ASAP or upon agreementKey Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical schematics and layouts using EPLAN P8. Create detailed wiring diagrams, terminal diagrams, and BOMs. Design low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems.

Ensure compliance with applicable German and EU electrical standards (e. g. , VDE, IEC). Interface with mechanical, systems, and project engineering teams. Support documentation and revision control processes. Provide input during procurement and production phases. Requirements: Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in industrial or power systems. Prior EPLAN experience for electrical schematic design. Strong understanding of power distribution, protection systems, and control panels. Familiarity with relevant German and European electrical regulations. Fluent in German (written and spoken); English is a plus. Availability to work freelance for the duration of the 12-month contract.
