Position: General AccountantRef: 1123751Location: BramptonSalary: $75,000- $85,000 + Discretionary bonus + Benefits & 2 Weeks’ Vacation + Christmas shut down period & RRSP matching Your New CompanyThis confidential opportunity sits within a well‑established, privately owned construction organization operating across multiple project‑based and operating entities. The business is active in a hands‑on, asset‑intensive environment, supporting complex projects and related services across several affiliated companies. This role will be based out of their offices in Brampton. Your New RoleReporting to the Corporate Controller, this General Accountant role will support the end‑to‑end accounting cycle across a group of entities, with a strong focus on intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and month‑end close. You will work closely with AR, AP, and senior finance leadership, gaining exposure to treasury activities, inventory and fixed assets, and year‑end processes. This is a hands‑on role well suited to someone who enjoys digging into the detail, improving processes, and building a deep understanding of how multi‑entity, project‑driven businesses operate. Over time, the position offers scope to evolve into a more senior or analytical role within the team. Key responsibilities include:Supporting month‑end close across multiple entities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenancePerforming monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations and resolving variancesManaging a high volume of intercompany transactions and reconciliationsSupporting inventory accounting, variance analysis, and related adjustmentsAssisting with fixed asset accounting, including CAPEX vs. OPEX tracking and disposalsOverseeing accounts payable activity, primarily intercompanyCompleting credit card and employee expense reconciliationsPreparing indirect tax reconciliations and filingsSupporting year‑end reviews and audit requestsAssisting with system upgrades, implementations, and data validationEnsuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards What You’ll Need to SucceedBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline4–5+ years of progressive accounting experienceEnrollment in the CPA program (in progress)Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end closeAdvanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data setsExposure to inventory and fixed asset accounting (highly regarded)Experience in a project‑based, construction, or manufacturing environment is helpful but not essentialConfident communicator who is proactive, curious, and comfortable working cross‑functionallyStrong attention to detail, discretion, and a problem‑solving mindset What You’ll Get in ReturnCompetitive salary in the range of $75,000–$85,000, depending on experienceDiscretionary annual bonusGroup benefits planRRSP match of 3% following probationCPA support and long‑term career development opportunitiesTwo weeks’ vacation, plus personal and sick daysPaid office closure during the December holiday periodStandard business hours with limited overtime outside of month‑ and year‑endA supportive leadership team and genuine opportunity to grow with the organizationWhat you need to do nowIf you meet all the requirements for this role, please apply quoting reference number: 1123751.
