Job Summary: The Line Cook (Pastry/Bakery) is responsible for preparing and plating all pastry and dessert items according to hotel recipes and quality standards. This individual supports the Pastry Chef and team to ensure a smooth pastry operation and deliver a consistent, high-quality product that exceeds guest expectations. Job Duties & Functions: Prepares, bakes, and finishes all assigned pastry items (desserts, breads, chocolates, plated sweets, etc. ) following established recipes and presentation guidelines. Sets up station prior to service, ensuring all mise en place are completed and properly labeled.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, complying with all food safety and sanitation standards. Carry out basic cooking techniques in a timely and efficient manner such as mixing, measuring, kneading, folding, baking, rolling, shaping, piping, glazing, icing, etc. Assist the Pastry Chef and senior pastry team in new recipe testing and seasonal menu items. Works closely with the team to manage inventory, minimize waste, and ensure the correct rotation of perishable items. Communicates effectively with front-of-house staff to accommodate guest requests and dietary restrictions. Performs additional kitchen duties and closing tasks as assigned by the leadership.

Education & Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Pastry / Bakery Cook or Pastry / Bakery Line Cook in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or comparable establishment. Formal training or certification in the pastry arts is an asset. Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain attention to detail under pressure. Familiarity with basic pastry techniques (e. g. tempering chocolate, working with laminated doughs, plated desserts). Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Have good time management skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage. Capable of standing for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This position is at a location where Hyatt is not the employer.
