A leading company based in Grand Baie, Mauritius, is seeking a Group Accountant to join their finance team. This exciting opportunity involves managing financial information across a diverse group of businesses while contributing to process improvements and delivering meaningful insights. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and work independently with a high degree of accuracy.Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Reporting:Maintain accurate financial records for the holding company.Prepare monthly trial balance, management accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.Assist with group inter-company transactions and cash management.Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards in financial reporting.Review financial information and enhance its usefulness for stakeholders.Analysis & Support:Analyse financial results, identify variances, and provide actionable insights.Support budgeting, forecasting, audit, and statutory reporting processes.Systems & Processes:Work extensively in Excel to manage, review, analyse, and consolidate financial data.Use and maintain Sage accounting software (experience preferred).Drive process improvements and maintain strong internal controls.Handle transactions and reconciliations across multiple currencies.Compliance & Administration:Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.Support tax and statutory compliance requirements.Ensure all accounting records and supporting documentation are properly maintained. Candidate Requirements:Education:A degree in Accounting (BCom or equivalent) covering core accounting principles and basic IFRS knowledge.Experience:Ideally 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.Experience working across multiple entities or business units is preferred.Technical Skills:Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs).Experience with Sage Accounting Software (preferred).Strong understanding of the flow of financial information within an organisation.Comfortable working with digital tools and the Microsoft 365 environment.Soft Skills:Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.Proactive approach with a willingness to take initiative and adapt to change in a dynamic business environment.
