This role forms part of the Human Resources team at Village n Life, based in Camps Bay, Cape Town.The RoleAs Group Human Resources Manager, you’ll guide the people function across all Village n Life properties. Your focus sits on steady HR governance, a healthy service-driven culture and consistent people practices that support the company’s long-term goals. You’ll work closely with leaders across hotels, spas and hospitality divisions to ensure policies, staffing, training and compliance are aligned with the realities of a seven-day operation.With your mix of HR expertise, operational awareness and sound judgement, you’ll bring structure to recruitment, training, wellness and labour processes. You’ll help teams thrive, support managers in fair decision-making and strengthen an environment where service excellence and strong people practices go hand in hand.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the HR Department, keeping delivery steady across all properties.Strengthen and maintain HR policies, procedures and group frameworks.Oversee recruitment standards, job descriptions and selection protocols for hotel, spa, F&B and support teams.Guide manpower planning, salary bands and remuneration structures in partnership with Finance.Support payroll alignment, statutory accuracy and time-sensitive submissions.Manage induction, property onboarding, annual reviews and career development pathwaysOversee training programmes for service-driven teams, including guest-facing standards and operational readiness.Monitor compliance with labour legislation and manage disciplinary processes, CCMA representation and grievances.Coordinate Employment Equity plans, WCA claims and Skills Development reporting.Oversee staff scheduling protocols, roster guidance and overtime controls within a 24/7 hospitality environment.Manage employee accommodation, welfare matters and recognition programmes.Support leave planning, uniform standards and group HR audits.Strengthen HR reporting, track key people metrics and guide leadership using these insights.Partner with senior managers to shape HR solutions that support operational and service needs.What We’re Looking ForRelevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, People Management or Organisational/Industrial Psychology.Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HR leadership role.Hospitality or hotel-group experience strongly preferred, with comfort navigating a multi-property operational environment.Confident understanding of HR legislation and compliance across service-based teams.Experience with payroll systems (VIP Premier preferred), HRIS and time-and-attendance tools.Strong communication skills and the ability to support managers through complex decisions.Sound judgement with the capacity to balance fairness, compliance and service context.Hands-on, steady leadership style suited to a fast-paced, people-centric industry.Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.What We OfferCompetitive remuneration aligned with experience.A people-influencing role with direct impact across the group.Supportive leadership and a collaborative working environment.
