The Group provides private banking and asset management services to wealthy individuals and large institutions, as well as undertaking private equity and corporate finance work.In the UK, the Group is involved in Asset Management (mainly Infrastructure Debt and Real Estate). distribution of Group funds to institutional investors, as well as wealth management.Purpose of the RoleThe purpose of this role is to lead the Compliance function of Edmond de Rothschild (UK) Limited and its regulated subsidiary, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (UK) Limited, and assist the business in all matters that relate to compliance with applicable regulation. Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (UK) Limited acts as the investment manager/advisor of funds investing in Infrastructure Debt Investments. These funds are domiciled in Luxemburg and, to a smaller extent, in France. The role therefore involves engaging on a daily basis with colleagues of the wider EdR Group, in Luxemburg and France in particular.Based in offices in St James’, you will report to the Edmond de Rothschild Group Head of Compliance for Illiquid Assets based in Paris. The Role will also act as the manager of a Compliance Analyst based in London.Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a primarily asset management focused role, which will entail:Holding the SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) FCA approved functions for Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (UK) Limited, the EdR Group entity responsible for managing Infrastructure Debt investments ;Monitoring all matters regarding Financial Crime, Market Conduct, Conflicts of Interests, Anti-Bribery and SMCR;Working closely with and providing support to the UK Senior Management, as well as other individuals in the business ; Reporting on Compliance matters to the UK Management and the EdR Group Compliance Function; Ensuring that AML risk assessment is conducted in line with applicable regulation and Group standards and providing sign off for clients and investments;Reviewing financial promotion and ensuring that local rules of distribution are complied with, including on a crossborder basis;Implementing the Compliance Monitoring Program and ensuring that it remains fit for purpose; Conducting regulatory watch and maintaining the Compliance Manual and other policies and procedures up-to-date;Ensuring that all UK staff receive appropriate compliance trainings on a regular basis;Liaising with colleagues internationally, in particular in Luxembourg, Geneva and Paris.Key Competencies and CharacteristicsThe successful candidate will have 6-8 years/significant experience in a Senior Compliance role for asset management businesses and will have good knowledge of the UK and the EU regulatory framework. Previous experience as a Compliance Oversight/SMF16 desired. It is essential that the successful candidate has a good understanding of Luxemburg and other EU funds set up in order to engage with the EU AIFM that the firm works with. The candidate must be eager to learn and have a willingness to take on a challenging and diverse workload, placing importance on long-term solutions and developing strong working relationships.Key skills in this role will be teamwork, communication/managing people skills, an ability to manage competing priorities, attention to detail, an ability to anticipate issues and a willingness to get involved in a broad range of topics as these arise. Strong academics essential.French language skills essential
