Head of Compliance

As the Compliance Lead at Whimsy Global, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s regulatory foundation as we prepare for our Major Payment Institution (MPI) license application in Singapore. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a robust compliance framework that meets MAS requirements and supports the company’s future operations in payments and financial services.ResponsibilitiesLead and implement regulatory compliance strategies and oversee compliance programs across all areas of the businessProvide proactive guidance and support on regulatory and compliance-related mattersServe as the primary liaison with MAS and other relevant regulatory bodies; coordinate internal and external compliance requirementsDevelop, maintain, and enhance AML/CFT frameworks, including policies, procedures, and internal controls for the GroupCollaborate closely with affiliated entities within the Group to ensure consistent compliance practicesEvaluate and strengthen compliance strategies and frameworks, addressing any control gaps as neededDesign and deliver ongoing compliance training and awareness initiatives for the GroupStay current with evolving regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practicesMaintain a strong working relationship with MAS and ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, including the Payment Services Act 2019QualificationsMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in fintech, paymentsStrong understanding of Singapore’s regulatory framework, especially the Payment Services Act 2019 and MAS guidelinesExperience in liaising with regulators such as MAS and handling regulatory submissions or auditsProven ability to develop, implement, and improve compliance frameworks, policies, and controlsFamiliarity with AML/CFT requirements and experience managing related risks and obligationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functions and with external stakeholdersDetail-oriented, analytical, and proactive in identifying and resolving compliance issuesComfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and contributing to the setup of compliance infrastructure from the ground up
