Here, you can be great.Your opportunity As our Head of Content within Marketing, Digital and Communications you will be the University’s editorial lead - driving high-quality storytelling across digital, social, print, and multimedia platforms. You’ll oversee a talented team of content creators and editors, managing priorities and maintaining delivery standards while crafting stories that inform, inspire, and connect. Your work will shape how audiences experience the Southern Cross brand - through podcasts, newsletters, video, events, guides, and more.You will make an impact by:Leading a small team to deliver high-quality, audience-focused content across digital, editorial, and media channels.Shaping and maintaining the University’s editorial strategy and calendar to align with brand, marketing, and media priorities.Producing and refining engaging stories, publications, and campaigns that showcase our people, research, and impact.Using insights, SEO, and analytics to continually improve content performance and audience engagement.What you will bringYou’re a strategic storyteller and collaborative leader, driven to create content that connects with diverse audiences. You combine editorial expertise, audience insight, and creativity to produce high-quality stories and campaigns that engage, inform, and inspire.To succeed in this role, you will also need:A relevant Degree in Communications, Media or Marketing and three years digital communications experience.Proven experience leading and empowering a content or editorial team to deliver high-quality, on-time outcomes.Demonstrated experience in creating compelling and accurate content to clients’ requirements for a range of demographics and content distribution channelsSenior experience in public relations, media liaison and/or communications workStrong editorial judgment with a sharp eye for accuracy, clarity, and tone and the ability to plan and execute cross-channel content strategies that resonate with diverse audiences.Why Southern Cross UniversitySCU is proudly a regional university, young, small and vibrant. Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communitiesHEW Level 7. The base salary ranges from $108,361 - $117,660 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation.
