Role DescriptionThe VP Corporate Communications will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that enhances brand reputation, strengthens relationships with key stakeholders, and positions the organization as a leader internationally in the life sciences industry. The role will oversee internal and executive communications, media relations, and brand building.Key Responsibilities1. Brand Building & Reputation ManagementDevelop and execute a holistic and global communications plan that builds and strengthens brand identity and reputation.Craft compelling and targeted messaging that differentiates the organization in various marketplaces and aligns with business goals.Manage brand consistency across all communication channels and touchpoints, including digital, print, and media outlets.2. External CommunicationsLeverage existing market positioning to create a bold external brand, especially in global pharma and emerging markets.Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, media outlets, and influencers in the Middle East and internationally.Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, proactively pitching stories to generate positive coverage and thought leadership opportunities.Draft press releases, media kits, and key talking points for interviews and high-profile LinkedIn posts.Manage communications during crisis situations in alignment with leadership and legal guidance.Represent the organization at key events locally and internationally.3. Executive CommunicationsCollaborate closely with the executive leadership team to develop strategic messaging for public speaking engagements, presentations, and written communications.Prepare executives for media interviews and public appearances, ensuring they convey the organization’s vision and values.Provide ongoing counsel and support to senior leaders on communication strategies.Ensure strategic alignment with any parent or holding company communications teams.4. Internal CommunicationsFoster a strong company culture by developing and implementing internal communication strategies and editorial content that inform, engage, and inspire employees.Manage internal announcements, company updates, and town halls.Ensure a consistent and transparent communication flow between leadership and employees.5. Content Development & StorytellingCreate and execute an overall editorial plan for various channels, including intranet, internal articles, blogs, website, and social media.Craft compelling narratives that communicate the organization’s brand story and values to different audiences.Develop content for investor presentations, public announcements, and executive communications to build trust and credibility with stakeholders.Key SkillsStrategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute communication strategies aligned with business objectives, foresee challenges, and adapt plans accordingly.Business Acumen: Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry landscape, regulatory requirements, and market trends to tailor communication strategies that support sustainable growth.Leadership: Ability to lead strategic projects by influencing and working through others, exemplifying a positive leadership mindset.Performance: Strong executive presence, credibility, and authority; sets high standards of behavior, performance, and integrity.Operational Excellence: Knowledge of communication practices across all media channels and ability to strategize and execute effectively.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s or master’s degree in communications or a related field (e.g., public relations, journalism).8+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably in a global pharmaceutical or life sciences company.Strong understanding of digital communication platforms, social media, and media landscapes.Established relationships with media, influencers, PR agencies, government organizations, and industry associations.Experience in crisis communication management.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messaging.Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
