Head of R&D

Key ResponsibilitiesLead R&D strategy for compute rack systems and next-generation products.Act as the primary technical interface with external design partners and customer engineering teams.Convert customer input into actionable improvements and roadmap updates.Oversee system architecture, prototype validation, and technology feasibility assessments.Coordinate with System, Thermal, Software, and Quality Engineering teams on design validation.Develop and manage R&D documentation, design standards, and version control processes.Plan and manage R&D resources, budgets, and project schedules.Present technical updates and roadmap progress to senior leadership, clients, and strategic partners.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering; MBA preferred.10+ years of R&D leadership experience, ideally in server, data center, or HPC hardware environments.Strong track record leading cross-functional teams and managing external design partnerships.Knowledge of rack architectures, power and cooling systems, firmware, and system integration.Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and partner-facing communication skills.Ability to balance technical depth with business and strategic considerations.
