Head of Retail Credit | Leading UAE Bank

Our client is looking for an experienced Head of Retail Credit to lead, shape, and manage retail credit strategy across the UAE. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the quality, profitability, and regulatory compliance of our retail loan portfolio.You will drive credit policy development, risk assessment frameworks, digital transformation initiatives, and portfolio optimization, while leading a high-performing credit team.Professional certifications like FRM, CFA, or other credit risk-related qualifications.Experience working in GCC countries or internationally in retail banking.Proven ability to manage retail credit portfolios during different economic conditions, including challenging or volatile periods.Strong understanding of complex regulations and experience working closely with regulatory authorities.Published articles or thought leadership on retail credit or related topics (a plus).Hands-on experience using advanced credit risk models and modern technologies like AI and machine learning in credit decision-making.A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a similar field from a reputable university.At least 12 years of experience in banking or financial services, including 8 years in senior retail credit risk roles.Strong understanding of retail credit analysis, risk management, and UAE banking regulations.Deep knowledge of credit scoring models, portfolio management, and retail banking products.Proven experience in creating and implementing credit policies and risk frameworks.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and grow high-performing teams.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, using data to make decisions.Strong communication and negotiation skills, able to influence senior leaders.Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
