Position: Health & Environmental Safety OfficerLocation: Leinster region (with travel to multiple civil engineering sites)The successful candidate will be working with a leading civil engineering contractor working on infrastructure, utilities and civil works projects across Leinster. (Company Car & Accommodation Paid)Contract: Full-timeSalary: DOE and qualifications (3 to 5 Years Experience preferred)Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Health & Environmental Safety Officer located in and around the Leinster Area. The role involves implementing and overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with legal regulations and company standards. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, developing safety protocols, inspecting work environments, delivering training sessions, and preparing compliance documentation. The Health Safety Environment Officer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to cultivate a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular site visits, inspections and audits to assess compliance with health & safety, environmental and welfare requirements.Ensure all statutory inspections, safety statements, method statements, risk assessments, RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) and safe systems of work are in place, reviewed and communicated.Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, training sessions (for employees and subcontractors) on health, safety & environmental topics.Review and approve subcontractor safety & environmental documentation and monitor their performance.Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses; prepare reports, identify root-causes, monitor corrective and preventive actions.QualificationsProficiency in Health & Safety and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) requirementsKnowledge of Occupational Health and Workplace Safety practicesPossession of NEBOSH certification or equivalentStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and training delivery abilitiesExperience in the construction or manufacturing industry is beneficialBachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related fieldMinimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a construction / civil engineering environment (experience on large infrastructure or multi-site projects preferred)If you are interested please send your CV to info@mastercrew.ie or drop us a message on here.Thank you,Master Recruitment
