Position SummaryThe Engineering Supervisor assists in managing and supervising the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure all facilities, systems, and equipment function efficiently and safely. This role involves hands-on maintenance work, scheduling, team supervision, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth hotel operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily activities of the engineering team, including maintenance technicians and trades personnel.Inspect and maintain all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, laundry, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to quality standards.Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule and assist in developing preventive maintenance programs.Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests to ensure minimal disruption to operations.Assist the Chief Engineer in planning and executing capital projects, renovations, and equipment replacements.Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, utility consumption, and equipment performance.Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and hotel standards.Train and mentor maintenance staff in technical skills, safety, and customer service.Monitor inventory and assist in ordering maintenance supplies and spare parts.Support sustainability initiatives and energy-saving projects within the property.Qualifications & SkillsDiploma or degree in Engineering, Building Maintenance, or a related technical field.Minimum 10 years of hotel engineering or facility maintenance experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duty as required.
