In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.To Ensure The Achievement Of This Large-scale Project, G Mining Ventures Is Looking For An Experienced And Motivated Individual To Fill The Position OfI.T TechnicianThe IT Technician is responsible for providing first-level technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues and assisting with the maintenance of our IT Infrastructure. This position is OKO Site based on a rotational basis to provide on-site support to users and maintain network infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support: Provide first-level support to end-users by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.Hardware and Software Installation: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.User Account Management: Create, modify, and manage user accounts, and access permissions in accordance with company policies.System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and backups, to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of support activities, configurations, and procedures.Inventory Management: Assist with the management of IT inventory, including tracking hardware and software assets.Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to support larger projects and initiatives and provide assistance as needed. Qualifications/Skills And ExperienceAssociate Degree in Information Technology or Computer ScienceBasic certifications such as CompTIA A+ or equivalent are highly recommended.At least 2 Years Experience in a Technical Support role.Technical skills and aptitude experience in hardware and software installations and maintenance.Excellent communications skills.Ability to manage resources and organize work plans.Problem-solving ability, with a focus on customer service.Strong understanding of desktop operating systems (Windows) and common office software.Knowledge of basic networking principles (LAN, VPN, IP configurations).Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Working ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site - Fly-in/Fly-outWork Schedule – 28 days on/14 days offTransportation, accommodation, and meals are provided on siteCompensation PackagePermanent, full-time roleCompetitive salaryCompetitive benefits, bonus and group insurances
