The successful candidate will lead research on satellite-based measurements, focusing on:Data quality assessment and fusion of multi-source satellite observationsDevelopment and validation of hybrid mathematical–AI modelsIntegration of advanced numerical and analytical methods for large-scale ocean data interpretationYour work will directly influence the design of next-generation surveillance systems, contributing to both scientific advancement and real-world operational capability.The following summarizes the key responsibilities of the role, you are required to:Conduct independent and collaborative research in applied mathematics, computational modeling, and MLDevelop algorithms with a focus on satellite data fusion and multi-source integrationSupervise Master's studentsCollaborate with engineering teams to translate research outcomes into operational toolsQualificationsPhD in Mathematics, Physics or equivalent fieldsStrong background in Partial Differential Equations, Numerical Algorithms, Functional / Harmonic Analysis or Theoretical PhysicsProven experience in Python for scientific computing. Experience in open-source project is considered as extra merit. Familiarity with C++, GPU acceleration, or high-performance computing is an advantageAbility to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teamsExperience in satellite measurement technologies and related research is an advantageSecuirty and citizenshipDue to the classified nature of the research, the applicants must meet the following conditions:Eligibility for national security clearance in Sweden or DenmarkSwedish or Danish citizenshipApplicants who do not meet these criteria unfortunately cannot be considered for this position.
