Join us.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Structural Inspector (Building) to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of buildings through thorough inspections and assessments.Review and understand project drawings, specifications, and structural design requirements to ensure compliance with approved documents and building codes. Supervise and inspect all structural works including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, staircases, and structural steel components. Verify reinforcement placement, formwork dimensions, alignment, and spacing as per approved shop drawings and bar bending schedules. Inspect concrete production and placement activities including formwork preparation, concrete pouring, compaction, finishing, and curing. Witness and record concrete testing such as slump tests, cube sampling, and ensure proper curing and documentation of test results. Ensure materials used (cement, rebar, aggregates, concrete, etc.) comply with approved material submittals and specifications. Inspect waterproofing, expansion joints, grouting, and structural repair works for proper application and workmanship. Monitor structural steel fabrication and erection, checking welding, bolting, alignment, and coating quality. Verify embedment, anchor bolts, and inserts are correctly positioned before concrete casting. Monitor post-tensioning and prestressing works (if applicable) and verify conformance with approved procedures. Ensure that temporary supports, scaffolding, and formwork systems are safe and as per design before concrete placement. Coordinate with Architectural, MEP, and Finishing inspectors to resolve interface and structural coordination issues on site. Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and issue site observations to the contractor, ensuring timely corrective actions. Maintain daily inspection records, test reports, and photographs of structural activities. Verify and sign off Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) for all completed structural elements. Ensure the contractor follows approved method statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and QA/QC procedures. Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) and Structural Engineer in resolving technical and quality-related site issues. Participate in pre-concrete and post-concrete inspections and ensure that all approvals are obtained before proceeding. Ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards are followed at all times during structural works. Review as-built drawings and ensure all structural elements are properly documented and verified before project handover. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 7 years of experience in structural inspection or related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredCertified Building Inspector certificationProficiency in structural analysis software and Microsoft Office SuiteIn-depth knowledge of building structures, materials, and construction methodsFamiliarity with local and international building codes and standards, including UAE building codes and regulationsStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to work on-site and travel within the UAE as neededAdditional InformationAbout AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
