Investment Associate

Our client a venture capital management firm specializing in seed-stage funding of technology companies is seeking an Investment Associate. The firm invests in and works alongside ambitious entrepreneurs, helping them build transformational global businesses. With a dynamic team, stimulating working environment, and international outlook, the firm has invested in dozens of startups and maintains a strong co-investor network across Europe and beyond.Main RoleThe Investment Associate will assist the Partners in analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities by researching sector trends, key characteristics, and differentiating factors to support decision-making. The role also involves regular portfolio company monitoring and investor communication and reporting. The position is based in Athens Greece and reports to the Partners.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze potential investment targets using quantitative, qualitative, and technology-based criteria; prepare investment memosSupport transaction execution, including deal structuring, due diligence, and legal documentationMonitor target sectors and technologies, track trends, and produce periodic digestsMaintain fund performance metrics and prepare reports and presentations for investors on a quarterly and annual basisAssist in fund and management company operations, including KYC/AML processesMonitor portfolio company performance (KPIs, growth, etc.) and assist in their development (recruitment, fundraising, business development)Skills & Essential RequirementsStrong academic background (BSc in Engineering, IT, Economics/Business, or similar); ideally with a technology foundation and understanding of market and competition dynamicsMinimum 1-2 years of experience in technology, consulting, or startups (not finance)Tech-savvy, with either hands-on experience in or strong understanding of cutting-edge technology; demonstrable curiosity about new tech developmentsExperience producing managerial reports for decision-making, including data structuring and automationAdvanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPointExcellent written and oral communication skills in English and the local languageSelf-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; strong personal motivationDesirable QualificationsUnderstanding of venture capital economics and investment mechanismsOperational experience in a startup environmentExisting network of startups or investorsMaster’s degree or MBA considered an asset
