Job Description

The Investment Counselor (IC) is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their own field and the business. They recognized as the authority for investment products and market trends within the business. To be effective in this role, the IC is required to communicate and disseminate market views both internally and to external clients. The IC is also expected to formulate investment proposals which best suit client needs.Responsibilities:Working closely with Client Advisors, the Investment Counselor (IC) manages investment relationships and delivers our Chief Investment Officer (CIO)’s views to our wealth clients.IC is expected to function as one of the primary client contacts, and trusted investment advisor for clients, including direct selling, determining suitability, identifying product specific opportunities, portfolio advice and after sales executionWorks closely with the Market Managers and support the Client Advisors professionals primarily serving clients in North Asia markets.Partners with Client Advisors to grow their existing clients’ share of wallet and win a greater percentage of their high net worth prospects by focusing on delivering quality solutions that meet individual client’s needs.Educates sales force on product solutions, create customized proposals for high net worth clients and be available to accompany sales professionals to deliver solutions in client meetings.Collaborates with colleagues to offer complete advice and wealth solutions to clients.Leverages specialists and wholesalers to provide subject matter expertise where appropriate and present or co-present at client events.Provides a high level of communication and customer service to sales professionals and their clients.Accountable for product revenue goals and penetration goals.Other duties as assigned.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:10-15 years of experience in investment product sales required.Broad understanding of financial services, product solutions and all aspects of financial planning strategies and conceptsClient-centric skills including excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsFluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is essential for the roleSpecific licensing may be requiredEducation:Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Consumer Sales------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Consumer Product Sales------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Most Relevant SkillsPlease see the requirements listed above.------------------------------------------------------Other Relevant SkillsFor complementary skills, please see above and/or contact the recruiter.------------------------------------------------------Citi is an equal opportunity employer, and qualified candidates will receive consideration without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law.If you are a person with a disability and need a reasonable accommodation to use our search tools and/or apply for a career opportunity review Accessibility at Citi.View Citi’s EEO Policy Statement and the Know Your Rights poster.
