Position Summary:We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented IT Technician to join our in-house IT team. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day helpdesk support and ensuring our internal technology infrastructure runs smoothly. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a Windows/Microsoft-based environment, assisting end-users with technical issues, and performing network cabling and hardware setup tasks.Key Responsibilities:Provide first-line technical support for employees in office, field, and shop environments via phone, email, remote access, and on-site visits.Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, mobile devices, and ruggedized field equipment.Set up new user workstations, including user accounts, permissions, and email profiles.Set up and configure IT hardware including routers, switches, access points, and job site cameras or IoT devices.Run, terminate, label, and test network cabling for workstations, Wi-Fi, and VoIP phones as needed.Coordinate with vendors and contractors for telecommunications and hardware installations.Support Windows 10/11 desktops, Microsoft Office 365 applications, and Microsoft Teams.Train field staff, plant workers, and office employees on IT tools, software, and best practices.Create and maintain documentation for technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and user guides.Monitor IT support tickets and ensure timely resolution or escalation.Maintain inventory of IT assets and supplies.Assist in system updates, patching, and regular maintenance tasks.Assist with user account creation, access control, and permissions in Active Directory and project management systems.Support and enforce cybersecurity protocols including regular password updates, patching, and antivirus management.Requirements:Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s degree or relevant technical certification (preferred).1+ years of hands-on IT support or helpdesk experience preferred.Experience with network cable installation and basic testing tools (e.g., cable testers, crimpers).Technical Skills:Working knowledge of Windows OS (10/11), Microsoft 365, and general networking concepts.Working knowledge of Active Directory, VPNs, networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS), and remote desktop support.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot PC hardware and peripheral issues.Basic understanding of IP networking and LAN troubleshooting.Comfortable working in physically active environments (e.g., pulling cables through ceiling tiles or conduits).Soft Skills:Strong organizational and time-management skills in fast-paced, decentralized environments.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently across multiple job sites and manage IT needs with minimal supervision.Willingness to learn new technologies and processes.Certifications (Preferred)CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications (MCP/MCSA).OSHA 10 or 30 for understanding safety procedures in construction environments (a plus).Working Conditions:Primarily on-site work in office and manufacturing environments.May require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.Regular walking, bending, and crawling to access cables or workstations.Occasional off-hours support or maintenance windows may be required.
