Job DescriptionJira Developer - Remote - Part TimeStart Date - First Week of December20 hours per week to start for 5 weeks with potential to extendMust be available standard business hoursOverviewWe are seeking a seasoned Jira Developer to support an Enterprise Applications team in modernizing and expanding the internal workflow and request management capabilities.This role will partner closely with the existing Jira Administrator to design, build, and optimize Jira forms and workflows as are transitioning away from a legacy system. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Jira development, workflow design, integrations, and best practices, and is comfortable providing technical guidance to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions. This position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, streamline business processes, and support critical functions such as system access provisioning, HR onboarding, and contractor management. Candidates with strong API development experience—particularly with Oracle Cloud—will excel in this role. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement custom Jira workflows, forms, dashboards, and plugins to support business operations and replace legacy systems. Build and optimize Jira forms and workflows for system access requests, employee onboarding, contractor onboarding, and other enterprise needs. Develop and maintain REST APIs to integrate Jira with Oracle Cloud and other enterprise applications. Collaborate with cross-functional groups—including HR, IT, and Enterprise Applications—to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Automate processes and data flows between Jira and Oracle Cloud using scripting, automation rules, and integration tools. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Jira performance, ensuring the environment remains reliable, scalable, and aligned with best practices. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Jira Admin and broader team, ensuring adherence to Atlassian and industry standards. Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation for Jira configurations, integrations, and workflows. Stay current with updates and enhancements across the Atlassian ecosystem and Oracle Cloud, advising on opportunities for improvement. Required QualificationsProven experience as a Jira Developer or Jira-focused software engineer. Strong proficiency in Jira workflow design, form development, and custom configuration. Demonstrated experience working with REST APIs, including integration with enterprise systems (Oracle Cloud preferred). Experience with scripting tools such as Groovy, JavaScript, or Python for automation and customization. Ability to serve as a subject matter expert and provide best-practice guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred QualificationsExperience working within an Oracle Cloud environment. Familiarity with Jira plugin development and Atlassian SDK. Prior involvement in replacing or modernizing legacy request/approval systems. Experience supporting HR or identity/access workflows.
