Junior Clinical Fellow - Haematology

Job Description

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust are looking to recruit a Junior Clinical Fellow within Clinical Haematology. This is a fantastic opportunity for a resident doctor to develop their skills and experience in this sub-specialty.The successful candidates will work in partnership with Consultants, Matrons, Ward Managers and Nursing teams as part of a multi-professional team. No prior experience in Haematology is required. Support and supervision will be provided and the opportunity to be supported with Royal College exams i.e. MRCP.The successful candidate will be expected to support the continuing care of Haematology in-patients, with option to participate in the emergency duty roster and attendance at outpatient clinics and procedure lists e.g. bone marrows (training will be provided).The successful candidate will be supported to participate in the Division of Medicine grand rounds and audit meetings and will be welcome to participate in any available further training and study opportunities.You will be assigned a rota which will include standard days within Haematology.Attending ward roundsAttending MDT meetingsClerking of new admissionsUndertaking routine clinical procedures on wardsFollow up management of acute inpatientsSupervised support of Chemotherapy UnitProcess chasing of investigations, referrals and proceduresPrescribingDischarge summariesContribute to quality improvement across the pathway.When you walk through the door, one of the first things you’ll notice is that the organisation is full of talented people.
