Our Analytics Team sits at the heart of this, using advanced analytics to help stakeholders across the Partnership solve problems and make better decisions. We are now looking for an ambitious and curious Junior Analyst to join us for an 2026 Industrial Placement. This is a fantastic hands-on opportunity to develop your technical expertise and apply it to real-world business challenges. You will be allocated to a part of the business, working with your line manager to maximise the impact and value of your projects. We're looking for someone passionate about solving problems, with a curious and pragmatic mindset, who is eager to learn in a fast-paced, supportive environment.Salary: Up to £25,000Contract type: This position is a Fixed Term contract for an Industrial Placement (typically 12 months).Proposed Start Date : July 2026Working pattern/flexible working: The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business.Location: London (Pimlico)Key ResponsibilitiesLearning to manipulate, analyse, and draw conclusions from large data sets to impact strategic and everyday decision making.Working with your line manager to identify the right analytical approach, techniques, and delivery timelines for projects.Creating clear and impactful outputs, such as in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) or presentation slides.Learning to use visualisation tools and automation to increase efficiency.Communicating projects and conclusions clearly and concisely to stakeholders.Understanding your stakeholders’ commercial strategies and how your work supports them.Developing good relationships with stakeholders and becoming an extension of their team.Ensuring all work complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and adheres to all Partnership risk, data privacy, and security policies.Actively investing in your personal and professional development by utilising the opportunities available to you.Essential Skills/Experience You’ll NeedCurrently studying for a degree in a numerate discipline (e.g., Maths, Physics, Statistics, Data Science, Science, or similar).A demonstrable passion for solving business problems, with a curious and pragmatic mindset.A self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and a flexible approach to working.Strong foundational communication skills and the ability to develop clarity in written and verbal delivery.An interest in developing technical skills in data manipulation (e.g., SQL) and advanced analytics (e.g., Python).An aptitude for learning data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau).Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to team success.Desirable Skills/Experience You May HaveExperience of creating value from analytics (this could be from university projects or previous work).Experience of interacting with senior stakeholders.Experience of influencing decisions through the use of analytics.About The PartnershipWe’re the largest employee owned business in the UK and home of our cherished brands, John Lewis and Waitrose.
