JOB DETAILSJOB BAND: CCONTRACT TYPE: 8-month attachment/fixed contract, full-timeDEPARTMENT: BBC PromsLOCATION: London, W1A 1AAPROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £29,000 - £33,000 plus London Weighting of £5,441 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. We run over 100 live events over 2 months in the summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London and venues around the UK. Nearly everything we do is broadcast across BBC Radio, TV and online. We are a creative, innovative festival that connects with audiences around the UK and across the globe. The 2026 Proms season runs from 17 July – 12 September.WHY JOIN THE TEAMAs the Junior Designer you will work in the Proms Publications team with the Publications Designer to produce creative print and digital design solutions for the BBC Proms, BBC Orchestras and Choirs and other BBC departments.Your Key Responsibilities And ImpactAssist the Publications designer in the preparation and layout of material for the BBC Proms Guide, the Proms Mini Guide and BBC Proms and BBC Orchestras and Choirs printed concert programmes. Assist with the BBC Proms Brand rollout. Liaise with stakeholders and contributors such as editors, printers and other BBC content production teams, ensuring copy and print deadlines are met. Build new and use existing InDesign templates to produce promo pages, house ads and other elements for BBC Proms concert programmes (both print and digital).Design flyers, posters, leaflets, merchandise and other marketing materials for BBC Proms and BBC Orchestras and Choirs (e.g. campaign design, programmes, posters, adverts, flyers).Archiving and backup of all material. Essential CriteriaYOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Proven graphic design and artworking skills with a strong sense of visual aesthetics.Experience of working on layout for multi-paged publications and marketing materials. Experience of preparing work for print and comprehensive knowledge of print production. Substantial experience of Mac systems and InDesign, with familiarity in paragraph and character styling.Experience of using Photoshop and Illustrator to create engaging images for editorial and marketing content. Desired But Not RequiredAbility to maintain brand consistency and work to brand guidelines.Ability to adapt and respond quickly to feedback from multiple stakeholders during the design process. Ability to organise and prioritise a heavy workload while working to tight deadlines, with great attention to detail.
