Junior Legal Assistant

Job Description

In relation to Havas Group entities in Cambodia (which offer various advertising services such as media, creative, PR, healthcare marketing and activation services) reporting to the Finance Director of Havas Cambodia and with the close support of the Asia Pacific legal team (based in Singapore), you shall provide legal advice and support to the above entities on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, contracts, and regulatory compliance and you will primarily be in charge of:Drafting, reviewing, updating and negotiating day-to-day commercial contracts (mostly clients’ and suppliers’ agreements); Assisting in putting in place an internal process for contract’s review across all entities and maintaining a data base for signed contracts; Maintaining accurate and organized records of the legal documents for each company; Drafting of ordinary and extraordinary corporate resolutions of the corresponding governance bodies; Ensuring compliance with applicable laws/regulations and advising on risk management strategies; Prepare and maintain accurate and timely records of legal proceedings and activities; Handle correspondence and communication with external local lawyer firms under supervision; Support in the formation of business entities and management of annual filings; Support with research on labor regulations and workplace compliance issue, and help with labor dispute documentation or employment contracts; Regular meetings with the regional legal team in Singapore. Qualifications & LanguageBachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, preferably with a focus on corporate law. Basic understanding of corporate and labor law principles. Must be fluent in both spoken and written English and Khmer Soft skills & CompetenciesStrong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines Preferred Qualifications:Paralegal certification is a plus. Experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department. Knowledge of local and national corporate and labor laws
