Junior QA Engineer

You’ll help ensure the delivery of robust, field-ready technology that performs in the real world.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport testing of software and hardware features by executing test plans and writing test cases Perform manual and regression testing as part of Emesent’s software delivery lifecycleCollaborate with developers to test user stories, ensuring all acceptance criteria are metParticipate in reviewing requirements and documentation to ensure test coverageRaise, track, and retest defects and bugs using tools such as JiraHelp prepare test environments and gather relevant test dataProvide feedback on QA processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesCoordinate with product, development, and QA teams to support timely, stable releasesDocument and maintain testing artefacts including test scripts, results, and issue reportsCreate and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Robot Framework, Python, or JavaScriptPerform other QA-related activities as required by the teamTechnical ExpertiseDemonstrated interest and foundational experience in software testing and QA principlesWorking knowledge of test case design, positive/negative testing, and basic edge casesAbility to write clear defect reports and communicate technical issues effectivelyExposure to hardware-software integration or embedded systems is a bonusFamiliarity with QA tools such as Jira, test management platforms, or basic automation toolsUnderstanding of the SDLC, basic quality metrics, and how QA fits into product delivery Foundational knowledge in programming languages such as Python and / or JavaScriptWillingness to learn automated testing frameworks like Robot Framework or Python over timeLeadership & CollaborationProactively takes ownership of small features or defined test scopes, with guidance from senior team membersWorks closely with QA Engineers, developers, and product managers to deliver high-quality workAsks questions, communicates openly, and seeks clarification to resolve uncertaintyContributes to team knowledge by documenting findings and supporting QA process adherenceActs as a buddy or peer support for other junior QA team membersDemonstrates curiosity, a growth mindset, and a willingness to step into field or hands-on testing when neededThe added perksGet a competitive remuneration package + superannuation.
