Location: Washington, DC or RemoteTerm: Initial one-year term, with option to renewEmployment Type: Flexible; this position could be filled by a Visiting Fellow, a full time employee, or by a freelance writerSilverado Policy Accelerator is seeking a skilled writer with 1 to 5 years of experience producing high-quality, engaging written content on foreign policy and international affairs. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical abilities, clear and compelling writing, and an ability to translate complex topics into accessible writings for broad public consumption.  The position is for a one year term initially, with option to renew; and can be structured as a full time employee, Visiting Fellow, or freelance writer.Duties:Research and write articles, briefs, opinion pieces, and other materials related to foreign policy, national security, and global economic issues. Collaborate with team members to develop written content aligned with Silverado’s mission and focus areas.Adapt writing style and tone for different platforms and audiences.Qualifications:1–5 years of professional writing experience focused on foreign policy, international relations, or related topics.Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills are a must.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Demonstrated familiarity with major global policy debates and U.S. foreign policy priorities.Salary and Benefits:Silverado offers a competitive salary, which will be commensurate with experience, and which can be tailored to the ultimate type of employment (i.e., Visiting Fellow, full time employee or freelance writer) that is agreed upon. In addition to salary, Silverado offers an expansive benefits package to its full time employees that includes paid federal holidays; generous vacation and sick leave including paid parental leave; health and dental care plans; retirement savings plan with employer match; short-term disability and life insurance.Application Instructions:Interested applicants should email the following materials to info@silverado.orgA résumé or CVOne writing sample (published or unpublished)Contact information for two professional referencesUpon receipt of your application package, you will receive a brief, one-page writing assignment on a specific topic provided by Silverado.
