The Opportunity: We are seeking an undergraduate 2nd or 3rd year law student to join a team in our Newcastle office. In this casual role (minimum three days per week) supporting a team, you will engage in diverse legal functions and administrative tasks. It is ideal for candidates who thrive in a dynamic and bustling work environment. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a law firm, develop your legal skills and apply what you are studying. Key Responsibilities: Liaising with clientsPreparation of correspondence, court documents, statements, and subpoenasAttending court and settlementsLegal research and court filing as requiredExtensive file and document managementProactively managing solicitor and client requests/inquiriesProviding high-level support to professional staff within the team Successful Candidates Will Have: Completed their first year of study in their Undergraduate University Law degree (preferred)Excellent typing skills with a high attention to detailAbility to prioritise work and manage competing deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamConfident, professional, and empathetic phone mannerStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook skills Your Application:A successful application must include your current resume and a copy of your most recent academic transcripts.
