To learn more about it, please visit this website: https://osse.dc.gov/ecepayequity Benefits • Paid time off • Paid holidays • Group medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance • Parental and family leave • Flexible spending account • Childcare tuition discount • NAEYC membership • 401(k) with employer match • Professional development opportunities Job Responsibilities • Ability to understand and support the education program using their child-focused curriculum • Ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all time • Ability to change children’s diapers and/or assist with toileting (where necessary) • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children, and parents • Ability to multitask in a lively environment and work well within a team • Ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies Qualifications • REQUIRED Education: AA or BA in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Educational Psychology, or an education related field • REQUIRED Experience: At least 2-years of experience working with children in a licensed Early Childhood Education facility • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations - for Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib • Must meet background check eligibility Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
