Be part of a team that is not only shaping the energy landscape but also contributing to a more sustainable planet.Join us and make a difference with GE Vernova’s Hydro Power business division!”Job DescriptionThis pivotal position requires a strong talent to lead financial operations and reporting in Africa with an emphasis on USGAAP/IFRS/OHADA accounting operations and related streams (taxes, treasury, governance etc.) with focus on partnering with the shared services (Genpact/Accenture) in ensuring the quality and productivity of the accounting closing & reporting operations in US GAAP and Local statutory filings.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities are as follow:Oversee the accounting operations and related streams (taxes, treasury, governance etc…) in Sub-Sahara Africa region and being POC for the external service providers.Partner with finance hubs in day-to-day transactional accounting processes (R2R, I2C, intercompany, PP&E, payroll, tax and cash), monthly closing & reporting, monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and USGAAP auditsLead local Statutory audit with the company external auditor to complete filing obligations by each country`s regulatory filing deadline.Partner with Tax and Transfer pricing team in tax filings, audits and risk/opportunity assessmentPartner with Hydro HQ/internal & external auditors for related controls (distributed controllership and others)Lead non-project business controllership (Restructuring, EHS, non-project litigations, Branch funding)Drive ERP improvements and new implementations from Controllership standpoint in case of new company code openingsSimplification initiatives, LEAN project management from controllership standpoint (MJE reduction, IC2.0)Qualifications/RequirementsThis role will require at a minimum an individual that has the following skills:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field and minimum of 8+ years progressive accounting or finance experience.Audit experience in big audit firms.Extensive experience on long term projects accounting and operations.Extensive experience working with financial systems including but not limited to Hyperion, Business Objects and/or other related tools.Fluency in English (written and Verbal) is mandatory. French is an advantage.Can demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work cross functionally.Strong knowledge of the impact of managing multiple GAAPs in an international environment.Ability work in a strongly multicultural environment with numerous locations and time zonesDesired CharacteristicsPublic accountancy with certification (or equivalent experience)Experience in SAP system would be beneficial.Strong analytical and prioritization skills that enable to manage multiple priorities in a team environment with multiple functions involved in one process.Strong Influential leadership, having a track record of leading initiatives and building relationships in a global organization would be strongly beneficiaCapacity to build and simplify, being able to demonstrate experience of streamlining processes would be a plus.The successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Hungary.)GE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
