Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. Your ImpactAs a Lead People Business Partner, reporting to the Director People, you will play a critical role in shaping workforce strategies, ensuring compliance with labour agreements, and fostering a positive employee experience. Your leadership will directly influence operational success and organizational culture at our Lihir site.As Part of Our Team, You WillProvide leadership, coaching and supervision to the People Business Partner team on day to day operational mattersLead workforce planning and analysis.Provide advisory support to leaders on all People-related matters.Execute non-escalated investigations and disciplinary matters in line with standards and procedures.Manage labour unrest risks and ensure compliance with CBAs.Support and deliver enterprise led programs and initiatives within the operations by collaborating with other functions within the People Team.Oversee workplace resources and administrative services.Foster an inclusive team environment that encourages collaboration and feedback.Prerequisites for Your Success in This RoleEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.Experience: Advanced knowledge in labour relations, disciplinary processes, and project execution.Skills:Strong leadership, supervisory of teams and interpersonal skills.Expertise in workforce planning, HR system and processes, employee relations, and risk management.Advanced coaching and change management capabilities.Foundational knowledge of workplace resource administration.Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts effectively.Ability to collaborate and work collaboratively at all levels of the organisation.Your Work EnvironmentThis is a residential opportunity offering secure and comfortable family accommodation in a gated community.
