Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. We also partner with the New Ireland Province to ensure economic benefits flow directly to the community, strengthening our commitment to sustainable development and positive local impact.PurposeWe are seeking an experienced Advisor – Asset Management (Electrical & Instrumentation) to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance team. This role ensures alignment of maintenance activities and strategies with production plans, supporting operational excellence and safety compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with all company HSE requirements and policeCoordinate maintenance activities to align with production schedules.Perform electrical work in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 Electrical Wiring Rules and company standards.Commit to the Asset Management Department FRM Standards.Collaborate with internal teams to optimise performance and identify improvement opportunitiesAbout YouTrade qualification and PNG Power Electrical License.PNG Driver’s License – Class 6.High voltage certificate and elevated work platform ticket.Minimum seven years’ experience in metals extraction and processing within large-scale plants.Five plus years of supervisory experience.Strong technical competence in heavy industrial environments.Proficient in CMMS (SAP desirable) and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Working ConditionsWillingness to work FIFO in PNG.Must pass a pre-employment medical.Valid Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months).At Newmont, our commitment to diversity and inclusion ensures that everyone can work to their full potential, free from discrimination, while respecting the cultures, religions, and governance of the regions in which we operate.
