Aligned with PNG’s national priority to build an educated and skilled workforce for resilient economic growth, SWLT aims to enhance the quality, relevance, and inclusiveness of skills development. The program will work closely with TVET stakeholders and select technical colleges to grow the number of skilled individuals with industry relevant skills.This OpportunityAs Public Diplomacy Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of SWLT’s communications and public diplomacy activities, helping to showcase SWLT in an engaging way, to raise awareness of Australia’s support for PNG’s TVET sector, and to draw public attention to TVET education as a successful pathway to in demand careers.This Will Include Leading the implementation and ongoing refinement of the SWLT Public Diplomacy Strategy and workplan Using effective stakeholder engagement to maximise reach, including collaborating with key TVET stakeholders and media partners Developing and managing communications content across digital, print, and event platforms Overseeing media relations, public engagement tracking, and impact reporting to support ongoing public diplomacy initiatives as well as SWLT MEL efforts Supporting event planning and logistics for public diplomacy campaigns for SWLT, DFAT, and TVET stakeholders as required Providing leadership to the Public Diplomacy Coordinator and contributing to a learning, inclusive, and climate-conscious office culture Upholding gender equality, disability and social inclusion, safeguarding, and SWLT principles in all aspects of work About YouYou will have experience: Delivering effective communications and marketing campaigns, with past experience in private sector or with donor funded programs Writing, editing and storytelling Using a range of communications and public diplomacy modalities and the hardware and software needed in their creation including: Social media platforms and content Videography Photography Visual graphics – charts, animations, infographics Newspaper and TV news ready content Planning and coordinating events Additional Key Requirements Include An understanding of the political and cultural context in PNG with the ability to work respectfully with partner government counterparts Proven ability to work with MEL frameworks or communication monitoring tools Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues and providing positive and constructive support that enables them to learn and grow Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a team Experience and/or knowledge of the TVET or higher education sector in PNG would be advantageous Please note: This role is being advertised early in the program’s inception phase.
